Descent of continuous fields of Hilbert spaces

We prove a descent theorem for continuous fields of Hilbert spaces along uniformly finite, proper mappings of locally compact Hausdorff spaces. As part of the proof, we compute the completely bounded norm of the flip map on the Haagerup tensor product of a pair of commutative C*-algebras over a common C*-subalgebra.
