Spin-charge separation and many-body localization

Jakub Zakrzewski, Dominique Delande

Published 2018-02-07Version 1

Many body localization for a disordered chain of spin 1/2 fermions is discussed. Following [Phys. Rev. B \textbf{94}, 241104 (2016)], we discuss the case of correlated disorder for both spin components, a system that leads to density (charge) localization leaving the spin degree of freedom delocalized. We show that this charge-spin separation is complete in the sense that charge is fully many body localized contrary to earlier claims. We also study the experimentally relevant case of quasiperiodic disorder.
