Lefschetz and Lower Bound theorems for Minkowski sums

This note provides a Lefschetz theorem for Minkowski sums of polytopes. We conclude lower bound theorems for Minkowski sums of polytopes by studying the intersection cohomology of the toric variety generated by the Cayley polytope.
