Given a surface of positive genus with finitely many punctures, we classify the periodic points for the mapping class group action on the moduli space of complex special linear rank two local systems. For genus at least two, the periodic points correspond to the finite local systems. For genus one, they correspond to the finite or special dihedral local systems.
