We present a study of a non-quantum feature (frustration) and a quantum feature (entanglement). For that we define a family of Hamiltonians and solve the eigensystem problem for different numbers of particles and different strengthes of a distant depending interaction. Though the microscopic properties vary extremely we can show that the characteristic functions we introduce quantify frustration and entanglement reliably. One main result is having found a function, termed anisotropy function, capable to characterize frustration and simultaneously being sensitive to local asymmetries of local entanglement. Our introduced toolbox allows for a classification of models with certain entanglement-frustration properties that may be extended to other Hamiltonians.
