In this paper, we give various results about such collections of curves and the associated homeomorphisms. In particular, if M is compact, orientable, irreducible and the boundary of M is a single torus, and M admits a homeomorphism which is a nontrivial Dehn twist on the boundary of M, then M must be a solid torus.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2009-04-23T08:52:44.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "57M99", "57R50" ], "keywords": [ "nontrivial dehn twist", "disjoint simple closed curves", "collection", "single torus", "solid torus" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2006math......4358M" } } }
