The author singles out a nice class of branching problems where each irreducible summand occurs discretely with finite multiplicity (admissible restrictions). Basic theory and new perspectives of admissible restrictions are presented from both analytic and algebraic view points. We also discuss some applications of admissible restrictions to modular varieties and $L^p$-harmonic analysis.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2003-04-22T17:43:45.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "22E46", "43A85", "11F67", "53C50", "53D20" ], "keywords": [ "unitary representation", "branching problems", "admissible restrictions", "algebraic view points", "harmonic analysis" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2003math......4326K" } } }
