This allows an extension to the case of PDEs and systems of PDEs; in this context the central object is a horizontal one-form $\\mu$, and we speak of $\\mu$-prolongations of vector fields and $\\mu$-symmetries of PDEs. We show that these are as good as standard symmetries in providing symmetry reduction of PDEs and systems, and explicit invariant solutions.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2004-06-23T16:44:46.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "pdes reduction", "lambda-symmetries", "vector fields", "explicit invariant solutions", "standard symmetries" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "journal": "Journal of Physics A Mathematical General", "year": 2004, "month": "Jul", "volume": 37, "number": 27, "pages": 6955 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2004JPhA...37.6955G" } } }
