We apply both the composite fermion and the Luttinger liquid formalism to analyze the transition. We suggest that using such adiabatic junctions one could build a DC step-up transformer, where the output voltage is higher than the input. Difficulties standing in the way of an experimental implementation of the adiabatic junction are addressed.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "1996-12-13T03:36:18.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "quantum hall states", "adiabatic transition", "narrow wire", "adiabatic junction", "consequences" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1016/S1386-9477(97)00016-7", "journal": "Physica E Low-Dimensional Systems and Nanostructures", "year": 1997, "volume": 1, "pages": 75 }, "note": { "typesetting": "RevTeX", "pages": 4, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "1997PhyE....1...75C" } } }
