We employ the generalized-ensemble algorithms in order to overcome this multiple-minima problem. Two well-known generalized-ensemble algorithms, namely, multicanonical algorithm and replica-exchange method, are described. We then present four new generalized-ensemble algorithms as further extensions of the two methods. Effectiveness of the new methods are illustrated with a Potts model, Lennard-Jones fluid system, and protein system.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2003-08-06T21:26:52.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "02.70.Uu", "87.15.Aa", "05.50.+q" ], "keywords": [ "metropolis algorithms", "generalized ensemble", "protein system", "energy local minima", "lennard-jones fluid system" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "note": { "typesetting": "RevTeX", "pages": 10, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2003AIPC..690..248O" } } }
