These functions are constructed through breaking (at the Hartree-Fock level) and subsequent restoration (via post-Hartree-Fock methods) of the circular symmetry. They are suitable for describing long-range Coulomb correlations, while the Laughlin and composite-fermion functions describe Jastrow correlations associated with a short-range repulsion. Underlying our approach is a collectively-rotating-electron-molecule picture, yielding for all N an oscillatory radial electron density.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2002-09-20T20:34:15.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "73.21.La", "73.43.-f", "73.22.Gk" ], "keywords": [ "high magnetic fields", "long-range coulomb correlations", "two-dimensional n-electron systems", "trial wave functions", "oscillatory radial electron density" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review B", "year": 2002, "month": "Sep", "volume": 66, "number": 11, "pages": 115315 }, "note": { "typesetting": "RevTeX", "pages": 5, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 585926, "adsabs": "2002PhRvB..66k5315Y" } } }
