A formula that provides the Euler characteristic of the singularized surface is proved. Also, we introduce a new definition of genus for singularized surfaces which generalizes the classical definition of genus in the smooth case. A theorem relating the Euler characteristic to the genus of the singularized surface is proved.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2020-06-10T20:28:46.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "14B05", "14J17", "55N10" ], "keywords": [ "euler characteristic", "singularized surface", "singularization", "singular surfaces", "basic simple loop operations" ], "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 13, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable" } } }
