The surface potential is modeled as the infinite rectangular potential well. The behavior of the chemical potential as a function of the film thickness is studied, the quantum size effect for this quantity is discovered. It is shown that taking into account the Coulomb interaction leads to a significant decrease of the chemical potential and to an enhancement of the quantum size effect.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2017-02-14T21:20:56.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "chemical potential", "coulomb interaction", "metal film", "quantum size effect", "infinite rectangular potential" ], "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable" } } }
