The most popular regularization methods for problems of small to moderate size are Tikhonov regularization and truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD). By considering matrix nearness problems related to Tikhonov regularization, several novel regularization methods are derived. These methods share properties with both Tikhonov regularization and TSVD, and can give approximate solutions of higher quality than either one of these methods.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2016-02-10T09:44:46.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "65F22" ], "keywords": [ "tikhonov regularization", "methods share properties", "novel regularization methods", "popular regularization methods", "linear discrete ill-posed problems" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "Elsevier" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2016arXiv160203307N" } } }
