The predicted rotational velocity curve obtained from Scalar-Vector-Tensor Gravity (STVG or MOG) is in excellent agreement with data for the Milky Way without a dark matter halo, with a mass of $5\\times 10^{10}\\,M_{\\odot}$. The velocity rotation curve predicted by modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) does not agree with the data.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2014-11-25T01:35:04.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "98.35.Df", "04.50.Kd" ], "keywords": [ "milky way", "modified gravity", "predicted rotational velocity curve", "dark matter halo", "galaxy rotation curves" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1103/PhysRevD.91.043004", "journal": "Physical Review D", "year": 2015, "month": "Feb", "volume": 91, "number": 4, "pages": "043004" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 5, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 1329915, "adsabs": "2015PhRvD..91d3004M" } } }
