Using a generalization of the 'process matrix' framework, which accommodates quantum correlations that violate an inequality verified by all causally ordered correlations, we propose three principles constraining bipartite correlations to the quantum bound. We find a promising avenue for an information-theoretic reconstruction of causal structures in quantum theory by choosing a measure of dependence different from mutual information.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2014-08-26T16:02:58.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "03.65.Ud", "03.67.-a", "04.20.Gz" ], "keywords": [ "indefinite causal order", "information-theoretic constraints", "global causal structure", "quantum theory usually implicitly assume", "principles constraining bipartite correlations" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1103/PhysRevA.92.042124", "journal": "Physical Review A", "year": 2015, "month": "Oct", "volume": 92, "number": 4, "pages": "042124" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 7, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2015PhRvA..92d2124I" } } }
