The governing Maxwell equations are reformulated as a well-conditioned second kind integral equation and the resulting linear system is solved in nearly linear time using a hierarchical matrix factorization technique. We illustrate the performance of the scheme with several numerical examples for complex cavity shapes over a wide range of frequencies.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2014-04-14T02:38:34.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "97N40", "65F05", "45B05", "45A05", "G.1", "G.1.3" ], "keywords": [ "fast direct solver", "high frequency scattering", "large cavity", "perfectly conducting half space", "dimensions" ], "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 15, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2014arXiv1404.3451L" } } }
