Using these generalised quantities, we characterise the out-of-equilibrium dynamics of hard-core bosons quenched to/from superfluid/insulating phases and show that qualitative new features emerge as compared to the equilibrium case. Our predictions can be tested in experiments with cold bosonic atoms confined in toroidal traps and subject to artificial gauge fields.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v3", "updated": "2014-06-13T14:57:30.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "linear response", "quantum quenches", "equilibrium", "superfluidity", "bosons quenched to/from superfluid/insulating phases" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "journal": "EPL (Europhysics Letters)", "year": 2014, "month": "Aug", "volume": 107, "number": 3, "pages": 30002 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 15, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2014EL....10730002R" } } }
