The switching is triggered by polarised short pulses which create spin bullets of high polariton density. The spin packets travel with speeds of the order of 106 m/s due to the ballistic propagation and drift of exciton-polaritons from high to low density areas. The speed is controlled by the angle of incidence of the excitation beams, which changes the polariton group velocity.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2013-09-24T20:55:15.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "71.36.+c", "71.35.Gg", "78.67.De" ], "keywords": [ "spin polariton bullets", "semiconductor microcavities", "polariton group velocity", "low density areas", "spin packets travel" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2011, "month": "Sep", "volume": 107, "number": 14, "pages": 146402 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 5, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2011PhRvL.107n6402A" } } }
