This phenomenon takes place for CNTs of finite length with medium aspect ratio. The origin of localization is clarified by means of the concept of Limiting Phase Trajectory, and the analytical results are confirmed by the MD simulation of simply supported CNT.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2013-09-23T19:57:42.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "62.25.-g", "05.45.-a", "63.20.D-", "63.22.Gh" ], "keywords": [ "single-walled carbon nanotubes", "low-frequency oscillations", "weak energy localization", "continuum shell theory", "medium aspect ratio" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1103/PhysRevLett.113.135502", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2014, "month": "Sep", "volume": 113, "number": 13, "pages": 135502 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 5, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2014PhRvL.113m5502S" } } }
