Here we show that the quantum capacitance of graphene is also strongly affected by its dielectric polarizability, which in a magnetic field is wave vector-dependent. We study this effect both theoretically and experimentally. We develop a theory and numerical procedure for accounting for the graphene dielectric response, and we present measurements of the quantum capacitance of high-quality graphene capacitors on boron nitride. Theory and experiment are found to be in good agreement.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2013-07-08T20:20:56.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "73.22.Pr", "71.45.Gm", "81.05.ue" ], "keywords": [ "strong magnetic field", "quantum capacitance", "electron dielectric response", "high-quality graphene capacitors", "clear experimental signature" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review B", "year": 2013, "month": "Oct", "volume": 88, "number": 15, "pages": 155417 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2013PhRvB..88o5417S" } } }
