Lett. 237, 297 (1998)) is analyzed from an analytical point of view. The model which is based on protein friction with a track is described by coupled Langevin equations for the motion in combination with coupled master equations for the ATP hydrolysis. Here the energetics and efficiency of the motor is addressed using a many body scheme with focus on the efficiency at maximum power (EMP). It is found that the EMP is reduced from about 10 pct in a heuristic description of the motor to about 1 per mille when incorporating the full motor dynamics, owing to the strong dissipation associated with the motor action.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2013-07-08T09:04:16.000Z", "comment": "22 pages, 6 figures", "journal": null, "doi": null }, { "version": "v2", "updated": "2014-10-03T10:39:23.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "efficiency", "energetics", "linear molecular motor model", "full motor dynamics", "motor action" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1088/1742-5468/2013/12/P12001", "journal": "Journal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment", "year": 2013, "month": "Dec", "volume": 2013, "number": 12, "pages": 12001 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 23, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2013JSMTE..12..001F" } } }
