Upon varying the interaction range \\alpha, we find evidence for the existence of a threshold at \\alpha=d/2, dependent on the spatial dimension d, at which the relaxation behavior changes qualitatively and the corresponding scaling exponents switch to a different regime. Based on analytical as well as numerical observations in systems of vastly differing nature, ranging from quantum to classical, from ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic, and including a variety of lattice structures, we conjecture this threshold and some of its characteristic properties to be universal.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2013-04-29T09:37:27.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "05.70.Ln", "05.50.+q", "75.10.Hk", "75.10.Jm" ], "keywords": [ "lattice systems", "universal threshold", "long-range interactions", "dynamical behavior", "long-range pair interactions" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2013, "month": "Apr", "volume": 110, "number": 17, "pages": 170603 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 8, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2013PhRvL.110q0603B" } } }
