The traditional statistical metrics of these fluctuations (such as variance) are shown to have large statistical errors in such systems. An alternative characteristic is identified, the inflection point of the correlation function in magnetic field, which is shown to be significantly more useful as an experimental metric and to give a more robust measure of phase coherence.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2012-06-14T18:13:49.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "73.23.-b", "73.50.Jt" ], "keywords": [ "quasi-two-dimensional systems", "practical view", "universal conductance fluctuations", "phase coherence", "large statistical errors" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review B", "year": 2012, "month": "Nov", "volume": 86, "number": 20, "pages": 205413 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 9, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2012PhRvB..86t5413L" } } }
