This is shown to reproduce standard results for a pure state. We then apply this method to conformal field theories, deriving the result E\\sim(c/4) ln(L1 L2/(L1+L2)) for the case of two adjacent intervals of lengths L1, L2 in an infinite system, where c is the central charge. For two disjoint intervals it depends only on the harmonic ratio of the four end points and so is manifestly scale invariant. We check our findings against exact numerical results in the harmonic chain.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2012-10-19T09:41:20.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "03.67.Mn", "05.70.Jk", "11.25.Hf" ], "keywords": [ "entanglement negativity", "dimensional relativistic quantum field theory", "path integral formalism", "reproduce standard results", "conformal field theories" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2012, "month": "Sep", "volume": 109, "number": 13, "pages": 130502 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 4, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 1118306, "adsabs": "2012PhRvL.109m0502C" } } }
