In PbBi2Te4, we found a topological surface state with a hexagonally deformed Dirac-cone band dispersion, indicating that this material is a strong TI with a single topological surface state at the Brillouin-zone center. Partial replacement of Bi with Sb causes a marked change in the Dirac carrier concentration, leading to the sign change of Dirac carriers from n-type to p-type. The Pb(Bi1-xSbx)2Te4 system with tunable Dirac carriers thus provides a new platform for investigating exotic topological phenomena.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2011-11-23T06:42:18.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "73.20.-r", "71.20.-b", "75.70.Tj", "79.60.-i" ], "keywords": [ "topological surface state", "lead-based ternary telluride pb", "direct observation", "deformed dirac-cone band dispersion", "dirac carrier" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2012, "month": "Mar", "volume": 108, "number": 11, "pages": 116801 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 5, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2012PhRvL.108k6801S" } } }
