We explicitly compute the global structure of the reduced locus of a single special cycle, as well as of an arbitrary intersection of special cycles, in terms of Bruhat-Tits theory. Furthermore, as an application of our results, we prove the connectedness of arbitrary intersections of special cycles, as conjectured by Kudla and Rapoport.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2011-10-04T22:40:56.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "14G35" ], "keywords": [ "shimura variety", "unitary shimura varieties", "global structure", "arbitrary intersection", "reduced locus" ], "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2011arXiv1110.0863V" } } }
