The data reveal subtle and distinct evolutions as a function of density, magnetic field tilt-angle, or symmetry of the charge distribution. When the charge distribution is strongly asymmetric, there is a remarkable persistence of a resistance minimum near $\\nu=7/2$ when two Landau levels belonging to the two subbands cross at the Fermi energy. The field position of this minimum tracks the 5/2 filling of the symmetric subband, suggesting a pinning of the crossing levels and a developing 5/2 FQHS in the symmetric subband even when the antisymmetric level is partially filled.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2011-09-07T15:38:07.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "73.43.Qt", "73.63.Hs" ], "keywords": [ "fractional quantum hall state", "two-subband systems", "symmetric subband", "charge distribution", "wide gaas quantum wells" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2011, "month": "Dec", "volume": 107, "number": 26, "pages": 266802 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2011PhRvL.107z6802L" } } }
