We show that when the pulsed coupling strength takes the form of a chirped pulse, thermal fluctuations of the mirror can be significantly transferred to the cavity field. In addition, the frequency modulation of the pulse could enable a better cooling performance by suppressing the sensitivity of the dependence of detuning and pulse areas. Using numerical investigations, we find that the pulsed-cooling is mainly limited by the cavity-field decay rate.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2011-11-21T08:33:03.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "42.50.Wk", "42.50.Lc", "07.10.Cm" ], "keywords": [ "cavity optomechanics", "chirped pulse", "cavity-field decay rate", "thermal fluctuations", "frequency modulation" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review A", "year": 2011, "month": "Nov", "volume": 84, "number": 5, "pages": "053838" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 6, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2011PhRvA..84e3838L" } } }
