  "abstract": "The hyperdeterminant of a polynomial (interpreted as a symmetric tensor) factors into several irreducible factors with multiplicities. Using geometric techniques these factors are identified along with their degrees and their multiplicities. The analogous decomposition for the \\mu-discriminant of polynomial is found.",
