We disclose common features of these systems and develop a unified picture that permits us to analytically predict and systematically characterize metal-semiconductor transitions in nanocarbons with superlattices of nanopores of different sizes and types. These novel materials with highly tunable band structures have numerous potential applications in electronics, light detection, and molecular sensing.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2011-07-21T22:33:57.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "electronic structures", "porous nanocarbons", "large scale ab-initio calculations", "disclose common features", "graphene nanoribbons" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "journal": "Scientific Reports", "year": 2011, "month": "Jul", "volume": 1, "pages": 36 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 7, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2011NatSR...1E..36B" } } }
