Starting with the description of the characteristic features of the single-domain SPM entities, their general magnetic-field and temperature-dependent magnetic properties are discussed. Then, the use of a MC technique for studying SPM properties is presented, starting with a general approach to MC methods and introducing the Metropolis algorithm as an adequate tool for reproducing SPM features. Special attention is paid to the role played by the \\textit{computational time} MC steps on the simulations.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2011-06-17T10:37:03.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "monte carlo simulations", "superparamagnetism", "single-domain spm entities", "temperature-dependent magnetic properties", "basic concepts beneath" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.2174/1876531901204010071", "journal": "The Open Surface Science Journal", "year": 2012, "month": "Aug", "volume": 4, "number": 1, "pages": 71 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 24, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2012OSSJ....4...71S" } } }
