We show that, in the case without resampling, the expectations of products of marginal processes defined via partitions of sites form a closed hierarchy, which is exhaustively described by a finite system of differential equations. One thus has the exceptional situation of moment closure in a nonlinear system. Surprisingly, this property is lost when resampling (i.e., genetic drift) is included.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2011-05-04T11:30:33.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "92D15", "60J28" ], "keywords": [ "moran model", "moment closure", "general recombination", "genetic drift", "single-crossover recombination" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 12, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2011arXiv1105.0793B" } } }
