It is suggested that the star is experiencing the recovery period following the r-mode heating process,assuming the star is differentially rotating. Like the neutron-superfluidity-triggering model, our model predicts the rapid cooling will continue for several decades. However, the behavior of the two models has slight differences, and they might be distinguished by observations in the near future.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v3", "updated": "2011-06-20T00:39:25.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "rapid cooling", "neutron star", "r-mode damping", "cassiopeia", "slight differences" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1088/2041-8205/735/2/L29", "journal": "The Astrophysical Journal", "year": 2011, "month": "Jul", "volume": 735, "number": 2 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 891625, "adsabs": "2011ApJ...735L..29Y" } } }
