We consider work statistics given by a repetition of quantum annealing processes by employing the Jarzynski equality proposed in nonequilibrium statistical physics. In particular, we analyze the distribution of the work performed by a transverse field. A special symmetry, gauge symmetry, leads to a non-trivial relationship between quantum annealing toward different targets in the theory of spin glasses. We believe that our results will be a step toward an alternative realization of efficient quantum computation as well as our better understanding of nonequilibrium behavior of systems under quantum control.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2011-04-04T07:43:15.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "nonequilibrium work", "efficient quantum computation", "quantum fluctuations", "work statistics", "quantum annealing processes" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1088/1742-6596/302/1/012047", "journal": "Journal of Physics Conference Series", "year": 2011, "month": "Jul", "volume": 302, "number": 1, "pages": "012047" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 4, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2011JPhCS.302a2047O" } } }
