The method goes beyond the linear response theory and, thus, imposes no limitation on the electric fields magnitude. It is shown that the Hall current decreases with increase of the electric field, if the Bloch frequency (which is proportional to the electric field) exceeds the cyclotron frequency (which is proportional to the magnetic field). The obtained results can be directly applied to the system of cold Bose atoms in a 2D optical lattice, where the single-band approximation is well justified.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2011-01-15T16:15:48.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "linear response regime", "hall conductivity", "single-band approximation", "electric fields magnitude", "hall current decreases" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1209/0295-5075/96/50002", "journal": "EPL (Europhysics Letters)", "year": 2011, "month": "Dec", "volume": 96, "number": 5, "pages": 50002 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 13, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2011EL.....9650002K" } } }
