The main point is to use Alexander duality to pass from the toric irrelevant ideal, which appears in the computation of the Euler characteristic of D, to the Stanley-Reisner ideal of the fan, which is used in defining the Chow ring. The formula also follows from work of Maclagan-Smith.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2011-01-01T17:01:23.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "14M25", "14C40", "02.20.-a" ], "keywords": [ "euler characteristic", "coherent sheaves", "stanley-reisner ring", "complete simplicial toric variety", "toric irrelevant ideal" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "AIP", "journal": "Journal of Mathematical Physics", "doi": "10.1063/1.3506404", "year": 2010, "month": "Nov", "volume": 51, "number": 11, "pages": 2304 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 9, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2010JMP....51k2304S" } } }
