At temperatures below 50 mK we observe a periodic oscillation in the conductance of the dot with gate voltage that corresponds to a residual quantization of charge. From the temperature and magnetic field dependence, we infer the oscillations are Mesoscopic Coulomb Blockade, a type of Coulomb blockade caused by electron interference in an otherwise open system.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2010-09-27T18:30:52.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "73.23.Hk", "73.20.Fz", "73.23.Ad" ], "keywords": [ "open quantum dot", "mesoscopic coulomb blockade", "quantum point contacts", "magnetic field dependence", "electron interference" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2011, "month": "Nov", "volume": 107, "number": 21, "pages": 216804 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 4, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2011PhRvL.107u6804A" } } }
