In the vicinity of filling factor nu=5/2, we observe a sharp discontinuity in the energy of the zero Landau level emission line. We find that the splitting between the two circular polarizations exhibits a sharp drop at nu=5/2 and is equal to the bare Zeeman energy, which resembles the behavior at even filling factors. We show that this behavior is consistent with filling factor nu=5/2 being unpolarized.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2010-05-18T06:49:11.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "73.21.Fg", "72.25.Fe", "73.43.Lp" ], "keywords": [ "quantum hall state", "spin polarization", "polarization resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy", "optical probing", "filling factor" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1103/PhysRevLett.105.096801", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2010, "month": "Aug", "volume": 105, "number": 9, "pages": "096801" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2010PhRvL.105i6801S" } } }
