The nuclear reaction rates used in simulations of this process have a profound effect on the final s-process yields. We generated 1D stellar models of a 25 solar mass star varying the 12C + 12C rate by a factor of 10 and calculated full nucleosynthesis using the post-processing code PPN. Increasing or decreasing the rate by a factor of 10 affects the convective history and nucleosynthesis, and consequently the final yields.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2010-02-15T14:06:44.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "12c rate uncertainties", "slow neutron capture process", "solar mass star", "nuclear reaction rates", "generated 1d stellar models" ], "tags": [ "conference paper", "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1088/1742-6596/202/1/012023", "journal": "Journal of Physics Conference Series", "year": 2010, "month": "Jan", "volume": 202, "number": 1, "pages": "012023" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 4, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 845816, "adsabs": "2010JPhCS.202a2023B" } } }
