Rev. Lett. 103, 210401 (2009)]. The information flow is connected to the rate of change of the trace distance between quantum states which can be interpreted in terms of the distinguishability of these states. Here, we elaborate the mathematical details of this theory, present applications to specific physical models, and discuss further theoretical and experimental implications, as well as relations to alternative approaches proposed recently.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2010-06-15T06:01:05.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "03.65.Yz", "03.65.Ta", "42.50.Lc" ], "keywords": [ "quantum processes", "non-markovianity", "open system", "non-markovian behavior", "information flow" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review A", "doi": "10.1103/PhysRevA.81.062115", "year": 2010, "month": "Jun", "volume": 81, "number": 6, "pages": "062115" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 8, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2010PhRvA..81f2115L" } } }
