We show that curvature radiation from relativistic electrons and positrons in the current sheet may naturally account for several features of the high-energy pulsar emission. We obtain light curves and polarization profiles for the complete range of magnetic field inclination angles and observer orientations, and compare our results to recent observations from the Fermi gamma-ray telescope.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2009-12-11T22:11:25.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "curvature radiation", "pulsar synchrotron", "strong electric current sheet", "time dependent three-dimensional numerical simulations", "magnetic field inclination angles" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1111/j.1365-2966.2010.16338.x", "journal": "Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society", "year": 2010, "month": "May", "volume": 404, "number": 2, "pages": 767 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 12, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 839929, "adsabs": "2010MNRAS.404..767C" } } }
