By following the time evolution of an interacting nanojunction attached to biased leads, we find that, instead of evolving to a steady state, the system reaches a dynamical state characterized by correlation-induced current oscillations. Our results establish a dynamical picture of Coulomb blockade manifesting itself as a periodic sequence of charging and discharging of the nanostructure.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2010-04-20T12:54:56.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "31.15.ee", "05.60.Gg", "73.23.Hk" ], "keywords": [ "time-dependent density functional theory", "dynamical coulomb blockade", "derivative discontinuity", "exchange-correlation potential", "electron transport" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2010, "month": "Jun", "volume": 104, "number": 23, "pages": 236801 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2010PhRvL.104w6801K" } } }
