We modify the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation and the corresponding solitonic equations of motion to include such higher-order texture effects. We also find a quasistatic equation for the induced electrochemical potential, which needs to be solved for self-consistently, in the incompressible limit. As an example, we consider the orbital motion of a vortex in a point-contact spin valve, and discuss modifications of orbit radius, frequency, and dissipation power.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2010-02-14T20:06:10.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "75.75.-c", "72.15.Gd", "72.25.-b" ], "keywords": [ "magnetic solitons", "dissipative dynamics", "spin-textured metals generate electrical currents", "point-contact spin valve", "higher-order texture effects" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review B", "year": 2010, "month": "Feb", "volume": 81, "number": 6, "pages": "060404" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2010PhRvB..81f0404W" } } }
