Using a new harmonization technique, we show that the resulting dynamical equation belongs to the class of fractional Langevin equations, a stochastic framework which has been proposed in a large body of works as a means of describing anomalous dynamics. Our work sheds light on the fundamental assumptions of these phenomenological models.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2010-04-28T09:56:41.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "05.40.-a", "02.50.Ey", "82.37.-j" ], "keywords": [ "fractional langevin equation", "body problem", "harmonization", "general two-body interaction potential", "foundation" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review E", "doi": "10.1103/PhysRevE.81.051118", "year": 2010, "month": "May", "volume": 81, "number": 5, "pages": "051118" }, "note": { "typesetting": "RevTeX", "pages": 8, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2010PhRvE..81e1118L" } } }
