In order to form a FM/GNR/FM junction, a graphitic region of finite length is coupled to the FM electrodes along graphitic zigzag or armchair interfaces of width $N$. The numerical results show that, the exchange coupling strength which can be obtained from the difference between the total energies of electrons in the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic couplings, has an oscillatory behavior, and depends on the Fermi energy and the length of the central region.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2008-11-06T13:05:29.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "ferromagnetic electrodes", "fm electrodes", "total energy calculation", "semi-infinite ferromagnetic strips", "metallic graphene nanoribbons" ], "tags": [ "conference paper", "journal article" ], "publication": { "journal": "Journal of Physics Conference Series", "year": 2008, "month": "Oct", "volume": 129, "number": 1, "pages": "012038" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 4, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2008JPhCS.129a2038S" } } }
