The data directly probe the shapes of the Fermi contours of the two spin subbands that are split thanks to the spin-orbit interaction and strain. The experimental results are in quantitative agreement with the predictions of accurate energy band calculations, and reveal that the majority spin-subband has a severely distorted Fermi contour whose anisotropy can be tuned with strain.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2008-01-20T21:35:55.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "73.23.Ad", "71.70.Ej", "72.25.Dc" ], "keywords": [ "strain-induced fermi contour anisotropy", "gaas 2d holes", "accurate energy band calculations", "magneto-resistance commensurability peaks", "severely distorted fermi contour" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2008, "month": "Mar", "volume": 100, "number": 9, "pages": "096803" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2008PhRvL.100i6803S" } } }
