The interaction leads to circular optical birefringence, which is similar to the Faraday rotation in magneto-optics but nevertheless involve no net magnetization. The birefringence effect provide a direct, non-demolition measurement of pure spin currents.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v4", "updated": "2008-07-16T08:17:51.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "72.25.Dc", "72.40.+w", "78.20.Ls", "85.75.-d" ], "keywords": [ "pure spin current", "polarized light beam", "direct measurement", "photon spin current", "pure relativity effect" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2008, "month": "Feb", "volume": 100, "number": 8, "pages": "086603" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2008PhRvL.100h6603W" } } }
