Specifically, we evaluate the exchange coupling both for a quasi-one and a two-dimensional system, also including an applied magnetic field. Our numerical results provide a stringent test for standard approximation schemes (e.g., Heitler-London, Hund-Mulliken, Hubbard), and they show that the standard methods do not have reliable predictive power for real quantum-dot systems.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2007-10-03T08:58:21.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "73.21.La", "75.30.Et", "02.70.Dh" ], "keywords": [ "exchange coupling", "nanostructures", "standard approximation schemes", "real quantum-dot systems", "standard methods" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review B", "year": 2007, "month": "Sep", "volume": 76, "number": 12, "pages": 125323 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 7, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2007PhRvB..76l5323P" } } }
