The derivation is generally valid for insulators with or without a Chern number, for metals at zero or finite temperatures, and at weak as well as strong magnetic fields. The formula is shown to be valid in the presence of electron-electron interaction, provided the one-electron energies and wave functions are calculated self-consistently within the framework of the exact current and spin density functional theory.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2007-09-21T05:50:02.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "75.10.Lp", "73.20.At" ], "keywords": [ "orbital magnetization", "quantum theory", "interacting systems", "spin density functional theory", "generalization" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2007, "month": "Nov", "volume": 99, "number": 19, "pages": 197202 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2007PhRvL..99s7202S" } } }
